NATURA 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon
We recently received a package from Banfi Wines, Natura Wines out of the blue a while back, which to our delight contained a bottle of wine. Now before we opened the package there was a few moments where we were wondering what wine this may be as Banfi has a fairly large portfolio of labels.
For our drinking pleasure we received some NATURA Cabernet Sauvignon made from the grapes of the organic vineyards of EMILIANA.
They did not send any accompanying info but we sourced this off their website.
Vineyards Central Valley, Chile. The soil is alluvial in origin and of medium depth. It has good drainage and high fertility.
Winemaking The organically grown grapes are hand-picked in mid-April. After the crush, the must is transferred to temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation tanks for a cold soak before undergoing alcoholic fermentation with gentle low-volume. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation. 20% of his wine is aged in oak barrels for 6 months.
Price at wine.com is $11. An amazing **** value. Overall, this wine is an enjoyable, easy drinking straightforward Cabernet Sauvignon.
This wine aside from being an exceptional value is a solid 5+ on our scale and we would be happy to enjoy it on any given night with barbequed anything, red meats and red tomatoe sauce style foods.
To great wine,
Cheers,
